About the Club

The City of Sheffield Diving Club was established in the early 1980’s at its former home ‘Sheaf Valley Baths’, officially opened in November 1972. The Club relocated to Ponds Forge Sports Centre which was opened in 1991 on the site where it replaced the Sheaf Valley pool. Ponds Forge hosts regional, national and international diving events and is extremely proud to have hosted a leg of the FINA Diving World Series in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011.

The mission statement for the diving club is: ‘To produce elite divers and ensure that all members are nurtured to their full potential’

The Club is run by a dedicated committee of parents and volunteers and is strongly supported in it’s activities by parents throughout the club. Sheffield Diving runs the Sheffield Santa Skills novice event and its own Club Championships annually.

In 2008 the City of Sheffield Diving Club was awarded the Swim 21 accreditation at the highest level of ‘Performance Club’. Swim 21 is the ASA’s national ‘Quality Mark’ for diving clubs, recognising that the club is committed to providing a safe and quality service.

The Coaching Team is passionate about diving and committed to our goal of producing world class diving MADE IN SHEFFIELD!
