Sheffield’s Ross Haslam has won a superb silver medal in the 3 metre springboard competition at the Fina Diving Grand Prix in Bolzano. Ross led the Sheffield Diving contingent, that also included brother Jack and Freddie Woodward, with an excellent score of 426 points. All but one of his six dives exceeded 70 points; his strongest dive, a reverse 3½ somersault achieving 77 points. Freddie reached the semi-final and Jack performed well in the preliminary competition. Freddie Woodward also came 5th in the 3 metre synchro event with James Heatly from Edinburgh. Their best dive was a front 2½ twist with 2 somersaults achieving 75 points. Ross’s exceptional season includes representing GB at the Commonwealth Games (as did brother Jack) and winning two medals at other international diving competitions.
