Maisie Bond produced the performance of her spectacularly successful season to win three gold medals at the Senet Diving Cup in Eindhoven. Although open to all age groups the competition is targeted at divers aged 12 and over. Maisie is just 10 years old but she won all three events convincingly. In the 3 metre springboard competition Maisie’s margin of victory was over 50 points, her best dive a superb inward 2½ somersault which achieved 54 points. She won the platform competition by a similar margin and stunned the crowd with a brilliant front 2½ pike dive that scored 55 points. Harrison Hartley was also a triple medallist winning gold in the 1 metre and 3 metre springboard events and silver on platform. Harrison’s highest scoring dive was an inward 2½ somersault on platform which earned 56 points. Joseph Pashley was also a gold medal winner, taking the platform title in the 14/15 years age group. Grace Ally dived superbly to win a silver medal in the equivalent event for girls and Holly Prasanto produced a very consistent series of dives to win bronze on the 1 metre springboard.
Strong team performances were also given by Jessica Vega, Sephora Ford, Oliver Hoban, Adam Charity and Isaac Trueman-Marsden. Coach Nigel Mills said “We are delighted with the team’s performance and are looking forward to even more success at the national junior championships.”
