19/06/2008 - Armada Cup 2008

Armada Cup 2008
Divers from the City of Sheffield diving club won the Brewin Dolphin team trophy at the Armada Cup in Plymouth on the 15th-17th February 2008. A total of 21 divers between the ages of 7 and 17 amassed a total of 12 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 8 bronze medals making it the highest ever team score in the history of the competition.

G-Star Championships 2008
Divers from the City of Sheffield diving club took home their second top team trophy of 2008 at the G-Star Championships in Leeds last weekend. The 22-strongteam, who ranged in age from 8 to 16 years competed against divers from 15 clubs nationwide. Together they scooped 9 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals to comfortably win the top team award.

19/06/2008 - National Junior Elite Championships 2008

National Junior Elite Championships 2008
The City of Sheffield’s Elite Junior Team dominated the medal rostrum at the Elite Junior Championships in Leeds on the 28th - 31st May. The team amassed a total of 9 National titles, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals making them the team with the most gold medals. With an impressive final total of 25 National medals, team Sheffield finished with the highest medal count of the competition.

16/11/2008 - White Rose Novices 2008

Well done to all the City of Sheffield divers who competed at the White Rose Novice competition at the John Charles Sports Centre in Leeds on 18th - 19th October. The 14 strong team collected a total of 4 medals and 9 top 7 finishes to place 3rd overall in the White Rose Team Trophy.

James Milton and Megan Sylvester won a gold and silver medal respectively in the boys ‘b’ and girls 'b' platform events at the European Junior Diving Championships in Minsk. Both divers put in fantastic performances to secure their first European Junior medals.

16/11/2008 - Aachen International Youth Meet in Germany

Megan Sylvester
Well done to the Sheffield team of Sam Hydes, James Milton, Asthon Hall and Megan Sylvester, who competed in Aachen against a tough junior international field including divers from Canada, Russia, Ukraine and Italy. Megan competed her 10m list internationally for the first time to take gold in the Girls B Platform event ahead of Canada in both silver and bronze positions.

06/03/2009 - 2009 British Diving Championships

City of Sheffield divers won a major haul of medals in last weekend’s British Diving Championships at Ponds Forge. Despite the loss of some key members of the squad to injury, the club won 4 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medals. Golds were won by Ben Swain, Nick Robinson-Baker, Hayley Sage and Claire Blencowe.

06/03/2009 - Sheffield Divers Triumph in Florida

The City of Sheffield Diving Club defeated 15 American diving clubs in the 2009 International All Stars Challenge trophy to win with the Men's trophy and come second in the Women's competition, ahead of Ft. Lauderdale, Team Orlando Diving and Mexican diving club Veracruz.

24/03/2009 - International Bronze Medals for Sheffield Divers

Sheffield’s Olympians Ben Swain and Nicholas Robinson-Baker took their first international test of the season last weekend when they competed against the world’s best in the first leg of the FINA Diving World Series in Doha, Qatar. The duo will then travel to Changzhou, China to take part in the second leg of the series which begins on 27th March, before returning to England ready for the British leg which takes place at Ponds Forge in Sheffield on 18th – 19th April. 13/07/2009 - Two medals at the FINA USA GRAND PRIX 2009

Megan and Monique
Sheffield's syncrho pairings won two medals on the International diving stage at the prestigious USA Diving Grand Prix between the 7-9th May at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Monique Gladding & Megan Sylvester won their first silver medal of the year, with a fantastic performance in the Women's 10m Platform Synchronised event. Ben Swain and Nicholas Robinson-Baker added to their 2009 medal tally, by taking the silver medal in the Men's 3metre springboard synchronised event.

13/07/2009 - MILTON CLAIMS INTERNATIONAL TITLE IN AACHEN

James Milton (City of Sheffield) stormed to gold in the men’s 10m Platform final. James is also the current European Junior Champion and he continued his run of good form into this meet with a total score of 417.65 points.

13/07/2009 - DIVING WORLD SERIES WINNERS

Ben Swain and Nick Robinson-Baker took a total of three medals in the 2009 World Diving Series to finish overall winners of the Men’s 3m Synchronised event. The duo took bronze medals in the first and third legs of the World Series in Doha and Sheffield and gold in the final leg in Mexico. Read more in the news and results section.

13/07/2009 - Haslam takes bronze in Budapest

Jack Haslam produced a personal best performance to win bronze in the 14-15 years 3 metre springboard competition at the European Junior Diving Championships in Budapest on thursday 2nd July. He missed out on the silver medal by just half a point. Jack was part of a 12 strong Great Britain Junior Team, along with his Sheffield team mates James Milton, Liz Heald and Harriet Bullough.

20/09/2009 - COSDC Balloon Race - September 17th

A BIG thank you to everyone that sold balloons for the COSDC Balloon Race. Over 500 balloons were released from the roof of Ponds Forge Sports Centre on Thursday 17th September. Congratulations to Ashleigh Smallwood in the Talent Squad who won the prize for selling the most balloons.

27/10/2009 - GBDF Winter Novice & Intermediate Championships 2009

Well done to all the City of Sheffield divers that competed at the GBDF Winter Novice and Intermediate competition at the new International Pool in Corby on 23rd October. 25/11/2009 - National 1 Metre and 5 Metre Invitational

Sheffield divers Tom Owens, James Milton and Ben Swain all finished in medal winning positions at the National 1m and 5m Diving Championships from 21st-22nd November in Leeds. 25/11/2009 - 2009 English Schools Diving Championships

The English Schools 60th Inter-Divisional Diving Championships took place at the Manchester Aquatics Centre on Saturday 21st November 2009. The Yorkshire and Lincolnshire team won the overall competition with the four Sheffield team members making strong contributions. Ross Haslam took gold in the Years 7 and 8 boys competition. Catriona Fraser took bronze in the Years 7 and 8 girls competition. Channein Lancaster also took a bronze medal in the girls Years 5 and 6 competition and Elliot Beedon won a silver medal in the boys Years 5 and 6 competition. 02/12/2009 - Sheffield Win top team at the Kingfishers Challenge 2009!

16 divers from the City of Sheffield Diving Club took part in the 2009 Kingfishers Challenge in Luton on the 27th & 28th November. The team won a total of 16 medals, made up of 10 golds, 3 silvers, 3 bronzes and 3 very close 4th place finishes. The team also took home the 'Top Team Trophy' and the 'Top Coach Trophy'. Well done!

22/06/2010 - 2010 NER Grand Prix - Leg 2

28 divers competed in the second leg of the North East Counties Championships (incorporating the 2010 Yorkshire Chanpionships) in Harrogate on the 28th February. The team took almost a third of the medals including 5 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze. Congratualtions to Hayden Liggins, Jade Semper, Max Fletcher, Fern Hitchen and Cameron Brooks-Clarke for becoming 2010 Yorkshire Champions. The full results and press release is on the Club website.

24/06/2010 - The 2010 ASA National Skills Finals

A team of twenty divers from COSDC travelled to Stevenage to compete in the 2010 National Skills Finals on the 10th & 11th April. The team produced a fantastic overall performance, gaining a total of 4 medals and two close 4th place finishes. Silver medals were won by Holly Colvill and Hayden Liggins with Sarah Leach and Harvey Travis both winning bronze medals. The City of Sheffield Diving Club finished 3rd overall in the team competition at the Armada Cup in Plymouth from the 18th –21st of February. The team of 19 divers won a total of 9 medals including 4 gold medals won by Millie Haffety, Channein Lancaster, Catriona Fraser and Ross Haslam. 24/06/2010 - Waldkraiburg International Diving Competition

Jack Haslam and Freddie Woodward represented Great Britain at the junior international diving competition in Waldkraiburg, Germany. The competition took place from the 18th-20th June. Jack returned with a silver medal in the Boys Group B Platform event and Freddie produced two personal best performances in the Boys Group B 1 metre and 3 metre springboard events.
